A former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst has been arrested after being stabbed early Saturday morning.

The Indianapolis Metro Police Department (IMPD) wrote in a social media post on Saturday that Mark Sanchez, 38, was arrested “for his alleged role in this incident.”
He is still in the hospital after TMZ previously reported that he had been stabbed early Saturday.
Sanchez has not been booked, according to IMPD.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis this weekend to broadcast the Colts and Raiders game at Lucas Oil Stadium, TMZ and ESPN reported.
“Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication, all of which are misdemeanors,” said IMPD. “All involved parties have been identified, and no further individuals are being sought by detectives.”
IMPD said the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final decision on charges.
Sanchez played eight seasons in the NFL and was selected 5th overall by the New York Jets in 2009, according to ESPN.
His final regular-season game was in 2018.
Sanchez also played for the Eagles, Cowboys, and Commanders.

Sanchez is in stable condition and continues to recover.
“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time,” Fox Sports said in a statement to ESPN.
Sanchez was in Indianapolis to broadcast the Colts and Raiders game at Lucas Oil Stadium, both stations reported.
He played eight seasons in the NFL and was selected 5th overall by the New York Jets in 2009, according to ESPN. His final regular-season game was in 2018.
Sanchez also played for the Eagles, Cowboys, and Commanders.
