Dayton police tried to stop a car along Edison Street after 6 p.m., a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch supervisor confirmed.
“The officers, with their tactics and the knowledge, knew this person was wanted for several felony violations,” Coleman said.

The car took off when officers turned on their overhead lights, and a chase began through various Dayton streets.
Coleman said the suspect eventually got onto US-35, then to Interstate 75, and then Interstate 70 before getting off at State Route 48 in Englewood.
He added that the suspect was driving over 100 mph.
The suspect crashed into the back of another car in the 500 block of SR-48.
“Then they decided to get off on Main Street, drive north, and then collide with a family that was just on their way home. Again, this family was just on their way home, and they didn’t care. They ran into the back of them,” Coleman said.
The family sustained minor injuries, but they were not hospitalized, Coleman added.
The suspect was injured and taken to an area hospital; however, it is unclear how serious their injuries are.
Anyone who saw this chase happen, or was involved in this incident, is asked to contact the Dayton Police Department at 333-COPS or the Regional Dispatch Center at 225-4357.
