75-year-old dead after crash involving senior living facility van

CLARK COUNTY — A 75-year-old woman is dead after a crash involving a senior living facility van in Clark County.

Around 12:20 p.m., a Springfield Masonic van was traveling west on US-40 when it made a left turn onto US-68 southbound, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

A semi-truck was traveling eastbound on US-40 when it failed to yield for a red light and hit the van.

Patricia Rowley, 75, who was in the back of the van and a resident of Springfield Masonic Community, died from her injuries, OSHP said.

OSHP previously identified her as Patricia Thompson. Her last name was from a previous marriage.

The driver of the van was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The semi driver claimed no injuries.

“Springfield Masonic Community extends its heartfelt sympathy to family and friends of our resident,” a spokesperson for the senior living facility said.
