News Center 7 obtained a 911 call where the caller identified herself as the victim’s grandmother.
She tells dispatchers she heard two gunshots and that the victim was shot by her boyfriend.
“When troops got here at the house, they learned that an 18-year-old female had been shot in the leg,” Miamisburg Police Chief Michael Brem said
Brem said they caught the alleged shooter around 30 minutes later.
“They later learned that a male, who we have not yet identified (but) have in custody now, ran from the house and ran through the woods and ended up at the golf course up the street,” Brem said. “We did surround him on one of the holes near the roadway.”
While officers were looking for the suspect, other law enforcement agencies were surrounding the house.
News Center 7 crews on scene saw several agencies, including Miamisburg police, Kettering police, Miami Township police, and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies.
“They wanted us to make sure that no one else was in the house at the time, so we did clear the house for that,” Brem said. “Big thank you to everybody who assisted in terms of capturing the juvenile at the golf course.”
It is unclear how serious the victim’s injuries are.
News Center 7 is working to learn more about what happened and will continue to follow this story.
