News Center 7’s Amber Jenkins said the lucky person from the Miami Valley won $100,000 by matching four of five numbers and the Power Play.
The Ohio Lottery said the winning ticket was purchased at the Meijer on N. Main Street in Englewood. The ticket has not been claimed at this time.
The Powerball jackpot is now up to $1.7 billion. The next drawing is on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Our news crew asked people what they would do if they won the Powerball jackpot.
“Retire and retire again,” said Steve O’Donnell.
“I’d probably buy my parents a house somewhere,” said Bryce Ellis.
One local owner told News Center 7 that almost everyone is asking for a ticket.
“It jacks up our business a little,” said Scott Green. “We get a lot of newcomers asking what we’re doing, and we pass out flyers.”
Jenkins says the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot is about 1 in about 292 million.
