A sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over a car stolen from Dayton along Scherer Avenue just after 8 p.m.
The driver sped off at a high rate of speed, but stopped a short distance later, the spokesperson said.
Two males, later identified as juveniles, got out of the car and reportedly ran away.
