He said the trailer of the FedEx delivery truck was wrapped around the pillar of the bridge.

Multiple 911 callers told Montgomery County Regional Dispatch about the crash on Sunday.

“There is a FedEx box truck that went off the highway and hit a pillar on a bridge,” one caller said to dispatchers.

“A FedEx truck that just flipped over the bridge,” another caller said.

“A semi-truck just drove straight off the road,” a third caller told dispatchers.

“Yep, single vehicle. Semi rolled off,” a fourth caller stated.

It is unclear what caused the FedEx Driver to lose control.

Our news crew drove on I-75 just past the State Route 4 interchange and saw barrel cones blocking off a broken guard rail.

Callers told dispatchers they saw the driver walking after the crash.

“He’s walking out. He’s like, limping a little bit,” a 911 caller said. “I would definitely send an ambulance because, I mean, the trailer, I mean, it’s, the vehicle is completely smashed.”

When our news crew arrived at the scene, a wrecker was parked in front of the FedEx truck.

Workers were pulling out packages from inside the truck.

Police blocked off traffic while they investigated the crash.

Patterson said the front part of the truck was disconnected from the trailer and hooked up to the back of a tow truck.

News Center 7 contacted FedEx about the crash.

They sent us this statement.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends who had loved ones involved in this tragic accident. Safety is our highest priority, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities in this investigation. Customers with questions about their shipments can visit FedEx.com.”
