Air show fans were able to get to their seats sooner last year because of a change made in ticketing.

At last year’s air show, all tickets included the cost of parking. Air show officials confirmed they’ll be using the same system this year.

This means no more parking passes, no more stopping in line to pay at the lots for parking, and more time spent on the air show grounds.

Anita Johnson told News Center 7 that her family isn’t concerned with the ticketing change because she lives close enough to the airport in Vandalia to see some of the acts fly over her house.

“We can see the, you know, the big jets and all of that,” Johnson said.

Johnson said the June heat gets to her now, but she loves being able to watch the skies from the comfort of her own home.

“[The show is] a big part of our family,” Johnson said.

Many air show fans are coming to see the iconic Akron-based Goodyear Blimp that is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

“It’ll be in the static area and people will be able to walk right up to it and touch it and take pictures with it,” Dayton Air Show Executive Director Kevin Franklin said.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are headlining this year’s show. Their last air show appearance was in 2023.

Fans can take advantage of discounted general admission tickets now. Saturday tickets are priced at $25, and Sunday tickets are priced at $20.

As the show gets closer, general admission tickets will increase to $35.
