UPDATE: 1 injured after crash involving 2 semis on I-70 in Preble Co.

PREBLE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 1030 A.M.

A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Jefferson Township, Preble County, early this morning resulted in minor injuries and temporarily closed the westbound lanes.

The crash happened around 12:51 a.m. near mile marker 5, involving a 2020 Volvo VNL tractor-trailer driven by Boburmirzo Ibodov, 29, from Brooklyn, New York, and a parked 2022 Freightliner Cascadia occupied by Sidiki Quedraogo, 35, from Bronx, New York.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the Volvo was traveling west on I-70 when it veered off the roadway onto the shoulder and collided with the stationary Freightliner.

Ibodov sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Quedraogo was not injured in the crash.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed temporarily to allow for debris cleanup, but were fully reopened just before 5:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A person was injured after a crash involving two semis on Interstate 70 early Wednesday morning.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, all lanes were closed for several hours on I-70 westbound in Preble County.

State troopers from the Dayton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) responded around 12:51 a.m. to reports of a crash on I-70 westbound near the five-mile marker in Preble County, according to an OSHP dispatcher.

All lanes were closed for almost five hours on I-70 WB heading towards the Ohio/Indiana line.

State troopers reopened all lanes around 5:30 a.m., an OSHP dispatcher told News Center 7.

The crash involved two semis with debris all over the interstate. A person suffered non-life-threatening injuries, an OSHP dispatcher said.

News Center 7 has contacted OSHP about what caused the crash.
