WEST ALEXANDRIA — A building was evacuated after a reported explosion at a local business.

Firefighters responded at around 8:34 a.m. to the 4800 block of Eastbound U.S. 35 on reports of an explosion at a business in West Alexandria, according to a Preble County Dispatch supervisor.

West Alexandria Fire Chief John Glander told News Center 7 at the scene that the explosion happened at a welding shop. The workers were cutting with acetylene when it began to leak and caused an explosion.
Workers were able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher before the fire department got onto the scene.
No injuries were reported, and no damage was done to the building.
