PIQUA — One man was injured after a house exploded in Piqua on Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 3 pm, the Piqua Fire Department arrived on scene to a house fully engulfed and collapsing near the 1100 block of Covington Ave., according to Piqua Fire Chief Lee Adams.

An iWitness7 viewer reported hearing a loud bang and immediately saw black smoke when they went outside.

Firefighters have not confirmed the cause, but Chief Adams confirmed there is the presence of natural gas within the debris.

A citizen at the meat market across the street pulled the man from the house.
The man suffered burns and was transported to an area hospital, according to Lieutenant Todd Voskuhl, from the Piqua Fire Department.
Covington Ave. is closed from near the Kroger to Glenn St.
