“Dolly’s is a new tradition that we’re building with a classic spin on favorite dishes,” Frank Alessandrini, vice president of operations, said.
As reported on News Center 7 at 5:30, the restaurant was packed for the opening, something Alessandrini has come to expect.
“This has been awesome. I mean, the communities that are continuing to support us and coming really gives it that hometown feel,” he said.
The restaurant gave away more than 100 burgers to customers waiting in line.
Customers said Dolly’s gives off a familiar feel.
Both locations in Miamisburg and Troy took the place of a Frisch’s.
Several Frisch’s locations closed down after failing to pay rent.
But one customer said Dolly’s menu may be an upgrade.
“We had the mushroom and swiss with onion rings, and it’s to die for. I mean, the Frisch’s didn’t have mushroom and Swiss before,” Gene Mills of Sidney said.
Mills said it was worth the drive from Sidney.
“The waitresses are great. They’re very friendly. It just feels homey. Good place to come and eat,” he said.
Dolly’s has several more locations in the works, with their next location being closer to Cincinnati.
