As reported by News Center 7, a dead body was found in the area of Manning Road and Anthony Road near Twin Creek in Jackson Township around 7:37 p.m. Sunday.

Initial emergency scanner traffic obtained by News Center 7 details that officers were called out to investigate a cooler that had a bad smell.

“Have a Jackson Township car come out here, it’s going to be something in a large Rubbermaid tote,” an officer first to the scene reported.

Shortly after that, the officer tells dispatchers to get a Jackson Township officer out to the scene “ASAP.”

As shown on News Center 7 at 5:00, the view from Sky7 showed that the area where the remains were found is pretty deserted. It’s not an often-traveled road and is a place a body might go undiscovered for a long period of time.

“I mean, if you look at this road, it’s hard to say what they might find if they came through here someday, Eddy Robinson said.

Robinson was out fishing in Twin Creek on Monday. He shared his reaction to the news of the discovery.

“You don’t know what is going through somebody’s mind anymore these days is all I got to say,” he said.

Investigators have not said how the person discovered there died. It’s also not clear yet if the person was a victim of foul play, but there are some suspicious circumstances.

Robinson hopes answers become available for the person’s family.

“Hope they find who did it and can let the family be at ease,” he said.

The Jackson Township Police requested that the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conduct the investigation. The sheriff’s office declined News Center 7’s request for an interview on the discovery on Monday.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene and removed the body for an autopsy to be performed.
