On June 1, a homicide investigation was launched after the body of 26-year-old Dominique Anderson was found in the trunk of a burning car in the 2000 block of West Grand Avenue.
“Felt like I died, still feel like I died,” Cynthia Armitage, Anderson’s mother, said.
She said her son left home on a Saturday afternoon, borrowing his grandmother’s car.
They couldn’t reach him on the phone all evening.
Detectives knocked on their door at 3:30 a.m. the next morning.

“To murder someone is horrible enough, but to go the extra mile, they burnt my child up, I can’t bury him in a casket and say good-bye,” Armitage said.
She had to cremate her youngest son.
She and her mother created a memorial garden for Anderson.
She wants answers, and so does Dayton police, who reached out for information in a Facebook post.
“If you know anything, big, small, even if you don’t think it’s relevant, please just call and let them know,” Armitage said.
She wants justice for Anderson and his two young sons.
“Justice. That’s all I want, it won’t bring me all the peace, but it’ll help,” Armitage said.
Police want anyone with information about Anderson’s death or who was with him on June 1 to call him at 937-222-STOP.
We will continue to follow this story.
