MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A fire spread to a hotel in Butler Township on Wednesday.

The fire was reported at the TownPlace Suites by Marriott along Maxton Road around 2:40 p.m., according to Butler Township Fire Department Battalion Chief Tyler Mangus.

As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, someone at a neighboring hotel saw the fire and called for help.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw a fire outside the building.
Mangus said the fire burned the nearby fence, trees, and a couch sitting inside.
The flames spread to the hotel, damaging the laundry and service room.
Two people were checked out for smoke inhalation, but no one was hospitalized, Mangus said.
All guests and employees had to leave the building.
The cause of this fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshals’ office.
