DAYTON — Firefighters responded to a house fire in Dayton Saturday afternoon, Brad French with the Dayton Fire Department confirmed.

The fire was reported at an abandoned building near the intersection of N Woodward Avenue and W Third Street at approximately 12:05 p.m.

When fire crews arrived, there was fire on the second floor of the two-story house, French says.

A firefighter sustained minor injuries while putting out the fire and was taken to a local hospital, according to French.

Formal damage estimates are pending, but the second floor was significantly damaged.

Fire investigators believe this fire was intentionally set and ask anyone with information to contact them.
