When our news crew arrived at the scene, smoke and flames were seen from the roof of the apartment complex.
Fire officials told our news crew that the heat forced them to change how they were approaching the fire.
“The reason we were having trouble getting to the second floor is the intense heat,” said Adam Landis, Dayton Fire Department District Chief. “It was driving us out of there, and then we ended up having some structural collapse.”
News Center 7 is working to learn what caused the fire and if anyone was injured.
We will continue to update this developing story.
