Dayton Police & Fire wrote in a social media post that firefighters found “heavy fire conditions” at a two-story home.
Video and photos showed that the home sustained exterior damage.
Dayton District Fire Chief Mike Fasnacht told News Center 7 that the home is vacant, but the investigator believes it to be “incendiary.”
“We had multiple fires set inside the building,” he said. “It’s incendiary, which means it was arson.”
Fasnacht added that there were reports of squatters going in and out of the home.
“The majority of the damage was to the first floor. The guys did a good job of knocking it down,” he said.
Fasnacht said the home needs to be boarded up again to keep people from going in and out.
No injuries were reported.
