XENIA — Police were on the scene of a shooting in a Xenia neighborhood for hours Friday evening.

As previously reported on News Center 7 at 11, neighbors heard the shots fired around 6:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Hivling Street.

“I was actually laying down, taking a nap in the living room on the couch when I heard the gunshots,” Mark Yearick said. “I came out here to see what was going on.”
Yearick says he heard at least two gunshots.
“I like a quiet neighborhood, and this has turned out to be anything but,” Yearick said.
Xenia police confirmed they are investigating a shooting, but they could not say how many people are involved or if they have a suspect.

News Center 7 spoke to a man who said he was related to the victims. He said the shooting happened at his house, but he was not there.
Neighbors also told News Center 7 that they saw multiple ambulances leave the scene.
“I really, sincerely hope that nobody lost their lives and everybody makes a full recovery, and my prayers go out to them,” Yearick said.
Officers say they will release more information after speaking with the family.
