Around 1:48 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were called to a crash on state Route 4 at Prairie Road in Moorefield Township.
An initial investigation found that a Mercedes-Benz GLX driven by a 58-year-old Tamara Jones from Maryland was traveling north on Parairie Road.
Jones failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a semi-trailer that was traveling northeast on State Route 4.

The semi and the Mercedes-Benz continued off the north side of the road, and the Mercedes overturned and hit a fence.
When the semi overturned, it hit a Jeep Wrangler.
Jones and two passengers in the Mercedes-Benz — Carolyn Honore, 80, of Urbana, and Cheryl Ceasar, 79, of Columbus — died from their injuries.
The driver of the semi and the driver of the jeep were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
