Driver seriously injured after crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — One person was seriously injured in a crash in Harrison Township on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at the intersection of Wagner Ford Road and Birch Road after 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies found “two vehicles involved in an assured clear distance” crash, the spokesperson said.

A preliminary investigation found that both cars were traveling south when the crash happened.

One car crashed into the other as it had slowed to turn onto Birch Road.

The spokesperson said the at-fault car continued south and crashed into a fence.

The driver was trapped inside the car and eventually removed by medics. They were hospitalized with suspected serious injuries.

The driver of the other car was not injured in this crash.

The spokesperson said deputies believe alcohol may have been a factor in this crash.

This crash remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division.
