SPRINGFIELD — At least one person is dead and another is injured after a shooting and crash in Springfield on Wednesday.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5, around 2:25 p.m., Springfield officers responded to a car that crashed into a home at the corner of South Limestone Street and East Euclid Avenue, according to Chief Allison Elliott.

A short time later, police received a call in the 200 block of East Euclid for a person who had been shot.

A person was found with gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital.
Elliott said that person was involved in the crash.
At the crash scene, police found another person with gunshot wounds who was dead.
Police have not taken anyone into custody at this time.
