Missed late field goal dooms Ohio State in Big Ten title game loss to Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS — UPDATE @ 11:55 P.M.

The Ohio State Buckeyes came up short against the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday.

Jayden Fielding missed a 27-yard field goal with 2:51 left as the Hoosiers won, 13-10.

Ohio State led, 10-6, at halftime.

The Buckeyes fall to 12-1 overall.

OSU took a 7-3 lead after Julian Sayin threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Carnell Tate with 53 seconds left in the first quarter.

Fielding’s 30-yard field goal in the second quarter extended it 10-3. Nicholas Radicic buried a 32-yard field goal for Indiana to cut Ohio State’s lead to 10-6 at halftime.

The Hoosiers took a 13-10 lead when Fernando Mendoza threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Sarratt.

The Buckeyes drove inside IU’s 10-yard line late in the third quarter, but Sayin was stopped on a quarterback sneak late in the third quarter.

This is Indiana’s first Big Ten football championship since 1967.
