At the city commission meeting on Monday, residents did not hold back their thoughts on the proposal.
“Why do we need more neighborhoods? For what purpose?” Steve Fisher asked.
“Where are we going to have green space?” Cindy Fisher said.
The development, led by Rockford Homes, will cover over 54 acres and is planned to include two phases of construction.
At the meeting, the council approved the site plan but will vote on rezoning the property next month.
If the city approves the rezoning, phase one is expected to start in late 2025.

That will include building 29 homes and the primary access point to Grange Hall Road.
Forty-one more homes are planned to be built in phase two of the project.
That could happen in the next two years, according to city officials.
News Center 7 asked dozens of people in Beavercreek what they thought about adding over 100 news homes to the city.
Many shared the same concerns as those at the city council meeting — how will this impact traffic in the area? Does Beavercreek have the resource to handle the increase in population?
City commissioners will vote on the rezoning plan Sept. 8.
