News Center 7 obtained a neighborhood video. It shows a minivan riding by. The video shows a flash from the car that hits the house. The car drives past it and out of the camera view.

Seconds later, the car backs up to the house again.

News Center 7’s Malik Patterson says it shot another explosive object at the home, causing a large explosion and fire in the grass near the car.

Pam Stillwell lives at the home where he was shot at. She was not home when it happened. But she told Patterson after seeing the video that a lot of neighbors are shaken up.

“It just scared a bunch of people,” she said. “Shook out my neighbors, okay, shook me up when I saw the video.”

After the fire goes out, they shoot another one for a third and drive away.

“I don’t know if it was kids acting goofy or what, or they were trying to, you know, aim this house and hurt someone,” said Stillwell.

She said shortly after it happened, four of her neighbors called 911.

“I don’t know if it was a gun. It sounds like a gun. I mean, I can see like, I don’t know, like fire coming out,” one caller told dispatchers.

Another caller said that they heard someone scream.

“There was a fight, and I heard a gunshot. Somebody was screaming,” the caller said.

Another neighbor even described the van.

“What kind of car was that?” the dispatcher asked.

“It was a minivan,” the caller answered.

Another caller said it was an older van that drove by.

“I’m not sure it looks like an older Dodge van,” they told dispatchers. “They were shooting something out the window, though.”

Stillwell told Patterson that her son was home at the time. There was no damage to the home. No one was injured.

But she’s glad they caught it all on camera.

“Definitely, everybody should have cameras nowadays.”

Neighbors told Patterson that they hope Springfield Police can use this video.
