SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @11:15 P.M.
A woman is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on a busy Springfield street on Saturday night.

As reported on News Center 7 at 11:00, Springfield Police and medics responded around 9:15 p.m. to N Belmont and Columbus Avenues on a reported pedestrian strike.

Photos show yellow caution tape surrounding a bicycle.
A Springfield Police sergeant told News Center 7’s Malik Patterson that a woman was crossing the street.
It is unknown if she was either riding the bike or walking with it when the crash happened.
Medics transported the woman by ambulance to the hospital.
The sergeant also told Patterson that CareFlight was on standby but was later canceled.
The crash remains under investigation.
