News Center 7’s Malik Patterson the wreck shut down the road for over three hours.
When our news crew arrived, they saw a motorcycle on the side of the road near a cruiser.
In several 911 calls obtained by News Center 7, people spoke with dispatchers and checked to see if everyone was okay.
“Oh, my God, I just heard something. And look back and I swear it was a motorcycle on the ground,” one caller said.
Shortly after that, another woman called 911 for help. She decided to check on both drivers.
“It was a car hanging on. I’m coming back up to it. I was going to go back to see if I could help,” she said. “I’m hoping it wasn’t a motorcycle and it was just a bumper or something, but it looked like a bike.”
As more 911 calls came in, each of them was either at a nearby gas station or driving in the area. They parked their cars and ran over to help.
Another caller told dispatchers that, thankfully, the motorcyclist had gear on.
“He had a helmet on and a long-sleeve jacket and a long pair of pants and boots,” the caller told dispatchers.
Other callers also stopped to help and checked on the motorcyclist.
“He definitely got thrown off the motorcycle. And, you know, he’s alert. And speaking,” the caller said.
Patterson said the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s reconstruction team was marking spots when he arrived.
A caller described the motorcyclist’s injuries.
“He definitely has a leg injury,” the caller told dispatchers.
We will continue to update this story.
