April Collins said an SUV smashed into her home after a crash involving a motorcycle.

A 911 caller told dispatchers that the motorcyclist was walking around after the crash, but his passenger had a broken leg.

News Center 7 is working to learn additional details about the initial crash.

Collins said one of her neighbors called to tell her what happened.

“Lady was saying that she had my dog and I needed to come home immediately because there was a car in my living room,” Collins said.

Collins was at work at the time of the crash. She said she couldn’t believe what the neighbor was telling her.

“(I) called my husband, and I immediately came home, and I found the car sitting in my living room like it was parked in there,” she said.

When she pulled up to her house, she wasn’t fully prepared for what she saw.

“I’m shocked. I’m speechless. I’m wondering how that happened. Because it looked like she drove straight into my house. But there’s a house next to me that’s catty-corner. And it’s like it missed that house. It missed the fire hydrant. And she looked like she just pulled straight in and parked in my living room,” Collins said.

As News Center 7’s Mason Fletcher was speaking with Collins, some neighbors came up to comfort her.

“We may not socialize a lot, but it’s good to see the people still have that kind heart,” Collins said.

She added that the first step in repairs is getting the hole boarded up.

Collins said she and her husband want to stay in this neighborhood, so they plan to rebuild.

News Center 7 crews tried to speak with Dayton police on scene, but no one was available.
