911 calls obtained by News Center 7 indicate that a man was shot while driving. The man managed to drive to a nearby apartment complex where his mother called 911.

“He said he’s been shot. He thinks he’s been shot. And he was riding down the street and he said he thinks somebody shot inside of his car and he’s bleeding,” the caller said.

The officer said a man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

“I saw police, fire and the ambulance pulling up,” Thomiq who was at the apartment complex said. “I saw a man laying out in the front.”

Thomiq and other bystanders were concerned for the man.

“I was just hoping he was okay,” Thomiq said.

Thomiq has lived there for a year and has never seen an emergency response like that outside her home.

“My children play out here all the time, it’s a park over there. It’s really quiet for the most part,” Thomiq said.

The shooting remains under investigation. Police were not able to give information on possible suspects at this time.
