2,000 volunteers have been working since last year to make sure everything goes smoothly.

“We were already in the planning stages for this year, and we’ve already got some acts booked for next year,” Sheila Wallace, a spokesperson for the Dayton Air Show, said.

On Saturday, June 21, starting at 9 a.m., thousands of people will gather to watch planes twist and soar through the air.

As of Monday, Storm Center 7 forecasts Saturday to be as hot as 89 degrees.

“If it’s 110 in the shade, some people go, ‘it’s too hot for me’ or if it’s cloudy, ‘oh it could rain.’. But you know what? It doesn’t stop those that really want to be here,” Wallace said.

Volunteers will make sure the Air Show is enjoyable for everyone by keeping people cool.

“We will have misters that people can get under to get some of the cool water on themselves,” Wallace said.

Multiple acts are booked for Saturday and Sunday, and one of them will be the return of the Good Year Blimp.

“First time we’ve had the blimp here in, oh, I’m going to say 25, 30 years,” Wallace said.

Pilots will practice stunts on Friday before taking flight on Saturday.

This year, parking will be included in the General Admission ticket price.
