The U.S. Senate cleared a procedural 60-vote threshold on Sunday night.

The final vote was 60-40.

Both Ohio Senators, Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno, voted “yay.”

Senator Husted announced the final vote tally.

CNN reports that this deal has enough support to fund the government through Jan. 30.

However, it does not mean the package has cleared the Senate.

CNN says if the Senate approves it, it would still have to go back to the House for passage before heading to President Trump’s desk for his signature.

Fox News says on social media that the agreement was negotiated by three Senators who caucus with the Democrats.

Politico reports that the Senate is poised to vote later Sunday night to advance the House-passed stopgap.

CBS News reports that President Donald Trump spoke to reporters as he returned to the White House from the Washington Commanders game on Sunday.

“It looks like we’re getting close to the shutdown ending,” he said. “You’ll know very soon.”

Senator Majority Leader John Thune told reporters on Sunday that “we plan to vote today,” on a funding measure as part of a plan to end the shutdown, CBS News says.
