Trotwood Madison City Schools said in a social media post that a gas line was hit on Union Road during construction by CenterPoint.

A CenterPoint Energy spokesperson later confirmed to News Center 7 that the line was struck by a third-party contractor on Wednesday evening. That contractor was performing work unrelated to CenterPoint Energy operations.

The school district said it was unsafe for students on the main campus and delayed the start of school by two hours.
