HUBER HEIGHTS — A man is in custody after he allegedly made a bomb threat in a Huber Heights neighborhood on Wednesday, a spokesperson with the Huber Heights Police Department confirmed.

Police responded to the 6700 block of Barbara Drive after the communications center received a report of a threat just after 11 a.m.

The threats were made by a man who said he was wearing a bomb, the spokesperson said.
Upon arrival, police found the suspect inside his house, which is located at 6720 Barbara Drive.
Detectives got a search warrant for the house. The Regional Emergency Response Team (RERT) and the Dayton Bomb Squad were called to help officers on scene, the spokesperson said.
At this time, neighboring homes were evacuated.
The bomb squad’s robot did a sweep of the house after the man was taken into custody, the spokesperson said.
News Center 7 is working to learn the suspect’s identity.
No evidence of a bomb was found inside the house.
This incident remains under investigation by the Huber Heights Police Department.
