“I seen the fire department out here, then I seen a guy come out with armor on, you know, his protection and some rifles and things,” LaTasha White said.

Craig Belton was prepping for a job interview before speaking to News Center 7.

“It was kinda unbelievable,” Belton said.

Michael Hampton said he couldn’t get back to his house.

“Yeah, right about five blocks away down the street,” he said.

He had to turn around due to the road closures.

“I’m gonna go down to Main Street and go down to the next light and make a left and go on, go down to Basore (Road), and it’s where I live,” Hampton added.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said a woman called them about her brother, who had chronic mental health issues.

He was out on parole from prison and isn’t supposed to have a gun.

“Fired a shot inside the house that went through a wall into her room, and then he made some statements that scared her,” Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Matt Haines said.

The SWAT team showed up after he wouldn’t come out of the house.

After talking to him for more than an hour with no luck, deputies said they put “low levels” of “chemical irritants” into the house.

“He ran to the front door with a gun in his hand, but then threw the gun out, and then we were able to talk him into coming outside of the house, and we were able to put him in custody,” Haines said.

After four hours, the incident came to an end.

“I hope they resolve it and no one gets hurt,” Whit said.

Deputies said aside from any treatment the suspect will need, they will be asking prosecutors to review criminal charges in the case.

The suspect was identified as Nicholez Carr-Wiley. He is booked in Montgomery County Jail on having weapons under disability.
