The flames have since been extinguished, but a spokesperson for the township said there will be inspections and environmental cleanup in the area over the coming days.

The driver made it out safely, just before the cab caught on fire.

“We would like to thank our first responders and our community service team for helping with the cleanup and the response to the fire,” the spokesperson added.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) said Union Centre Blvd at I-75 will remain closed until further notice.

Inspectors with ODOT’s District 8 Bridge Department found no structural damage.

However, the pavement on the deck and ramp had extensive damage and will need to be repaired before reopening the bridge.

Contractors will start repairing the pavement once all clean-up work is complete.

ODOT said that work is anticipated to start late Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

A timeline for completion is unknown.

Drivers can detour by using Cincinnati-Dayton and West Chester roads or I-275 West and S.R. 747.
