UPDATE: Nearly 25K without power as powerful winds move through the region

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Nearly 25,000 people are without power in the area on Friday.

As of 9:55 p.m, 24,977 AES Ohio customers have reported not having power, according to the AES Outage Map.

In a statement Friday night, AES officials said crews are assessing the damage and working around the clock to restore power.

“Due to the extent of the damage, we advise customers to anticipate a restoration process that may take several days. Some outages are complex and require multiple repairs before service can be safely restored. In addition to our local crews, mutual aid crews from other utilities will be assisting with restoration efforts,” AES said.
