DAYTON — A large search on the Great Miami River Thursday evening has been suspended.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Dayton fire crews responded to reports of a water rescue in the area of Interstate 75 and W Monument Avenue around 5 p.m.
A Montgomery County dispatch supervisor said “items” were found near the riverbank, which prompted the water rescue.

News Center 7 crews on scene saw first responders from several departments, including the Dayton Fire Department, Dayton Police Department, Huber Heights Police and MetroPark rangers.
Several divers and an Ohio Department of Natural Resources boat were also spotted in the water.
News Center 7 crews tried to speak with Dayton police and fire crews, but no one could provide information.
